W Oil is fantastic. If you did not know that it was a water soluable oil paint you could not tell the difference between it and a standard oil paint as far as paintability. There is a very minimal paint smell with the paint and because you can thin the paint with water or the modified linseed oil there is no harsh thinner odor. The quick dry medium does have a typical odor to it, but it is an option and not a required product. I love this paint!

Happy New Year 2012

I am on my way to accomplishing my first New Year's Resolution.  I resolved to get a website or blog up and running in 2012 and to do more painting and creating this year.

I did 2 paintings today one is a beautiful Bird of Paradise that will be a donation for an auction to benefit an animal rescue group that our favorite bagel shop supports.  The other is one of my all time favorite flowers, the purple lilac.  My grandparents had the most beautiful large purple lilac bush in their side yard.  Growing up we could not wait for lilac season and the beautiful blooms and scent from that bush.  Both paintings were done using the new Weber W Oils which are wonderful oil paints that clean up with water.  Both flowers are designs of Wilson Bickford on backgrounds of my design.

I also finished one of the paintings that I did for my W oil certification course with Donna Dewberry.

Now if I can just keep the progress going I am off to a good start to 2012.  I hope 2012 continues on a better note than 2011 ended for everyone.  Happy New Year to everyone....
